The
Kalamazoo Ringers performed with the Battle Creek Boychoir and the
Battle Creek Girls' Chorus October 16th, 2004. The concert was reviewed
by Jeffe Huls of the Battle Creek Enquirer. Mr. Huls is a choral
conducting graduate student and voice teacher. A part of the review
follows:
"The last half of the concert was presented by the Kalamazoo Ringers under the direction of Jan VanValey. These ringers provided the diversity and music interest for which the concert audience longed. The ringing was balanced from player to player, infused with aerobic energy, exciting ringing techniques, and sonorous, thick harmonic textures. It was easy to get lost in the sound of this ensemble as they offered a diverse repertoire ranging from contemporary to gospel/jazz to percussive arrangements of hymns..."
Through
Fund Raising the Kalamazoo Ringers were able to complete the bottom half
of the sixth octave. This brings the total to (73) Malmark Handbells®
Along with the 5 ˝ sets of (66) Malmark Choirchimes®.
